London Health and Safety Awareness Courses
Our 1 Day Health and Safety Awareness Course is part of the CITB Site Safety Plus group of courses.
The course is aimed at anyone who is working within the construction industry at operative level and delivers the necessary skills to allow them to understand the risks present on site.
This course meets the meets the requirements of the BuildUK (formerly UK Contractors Group) Health and Safety Training Standard. All BuildUK member companies e.g. Balfour Beatty, Mace, BAM, Kier, Osbourne, Skanska etc. will require Site Operatives to hold the CITB Health and Safety Awareness or equivalent qualification if you are working on any of their projects.
The 1 Day Health and Safety Awareness Course also meets the requirements for getting a Green Labourer CSCS Card.
The course provides a broad overview of the health, safety and environmental issues which operatives may encounter, and aims to ensure that they clearly understand their responsibilities on site as regards their safety and the safety of others.

- Preventing accidents
- An operatives duties under Health and Safety Law
- Plant and equipment
- Noise and vibration
- Risk assessments and method statements
- Excavations and confined spaces
Our Health and Safety Awareness courses London are delivered at venues in Central London and Heathrow. Detailed venue information will be provided during the booking process.
The assessment process consists of continual assessment during the course and a final examination at the end of the day. The examination is a 30 minute, multiple choice paper. In the event of a delegate failing to achieve the required score on the final examination, we will allow them to resit the examination free of charge as long as they can do so within 90 days of the first examination date.
The Health and Safety Awareness course takes place over a full day with a total of 8 hours of training. Courses normally begin at 09.00 sharp and late arrival may result in you not being able to attend. Specific details of start times will be provided during the booking process.
